School Readiness (ages 4-6):
Now Enrolling Students for Fall 09
This program is designed to promote school readiness skills in young learners. The program allows you to enroll your child in just one or two classes, or all five. Students will be exposed to a multi-modal method of instruction.
Enrollment is on-going and compliments your child's pre-school, kindergarten, or homeschool program.

Mondays:
Phonemic Awareness and Reading Readiness
This will include phonemic awareness (letter/sound recognition), word attack using initial, medial, and final sounds, introduction to decoding, and sight word reading. Instruction will be individualized based on student's ability and reading level.
Tuesdays:
Appropriate Classroom Skills and Social Skills
This will include turn taking, classroom etiquette, friendship skills, conversation skills, and managing classroom materials.
Wednesdays:
Numeracy Instruction
This will include number recognition, and numeracy skills such as patterns, counting, adding and subtracting. Students will work with manipulatives and receive multi-modal instruction. Instruction will be individualized based on student's ability.
Thursdays:
Writing and Fine Motor Skills
This will include letter formation, manuscript writing, and sentence development. Fine motor skills will be targeted such as working with scissors, coloring, and manipulating writing materials. Instruction will be individualized based on student's ability.
Fridays:
Enrichment through Literature
An oral literature class designed to promote story sense, comprehension, and vocabulary development. Dramatic play and art projects will enhance this class.
